Rancho Del Lago is a small gated neighborhood in Rancho Santa Fe, California. This luxury community features some of the most impressive estates in the city.
Rancho Del Lago is comprised of 41 homes with many of them built in the mid 1980s and 1990s. Living space ranges from 6,000 to 10,000 square feet and the lots average about four acres each. Many of the homes have their own private pools or tennis courts. And residents enjoy panoramic views of the valley. The Home Owners Association maintains the common areas and entrance.
This neighborhood is served by the Rancho Santa Fe Elementary School District and the San Dieguito Union High School District. Students have many high ranking facilities such as R. Roger Rowe Elementary, R. Roger Rowe Middle, and Torrey Pines High School. There are a few private establishments in this city like the Horizon Christian Fellowship, The Rhoades School, and The Nativity School. Neighboring cities have schools like MiraCosta College and the University of California San Diego.
Rancho Del Lago is adjacent to The Bridges of Rancho Santa Fe, a premier golfing community. The 18-hole par-71 private course was designed by the Robert Trent Jones II Group. It is also where top players once competed in the Battle at the Bridges. This club also offers tennis, fitness, and fine dining.
Just to the south by Freeway 56 and Interstate 5 you’ll find many restaurants, stores, and services. Shopping centers include Del Rayo Village Shopping Center, the West Village Shopping Center, and Fairbanks Village Plaza. Cielo Village is a shopping piazza that reflects an Old World charm with its outdoor dining and boutiques.
Rancho Santa Fe is a CDP made up of mostly residential areas with a few commercial areas and two schools. It was on the nation’s highest income list in 2010. Notable residents from the past and present include Janet Jackson, Howard Hughes, Bill Gates, Jenny Craig, Phil Mickelson, John Moores, and Robert Young.
